Justice – Beatitudes Part 4
One Jesus's most famous sermons is the Sermon on the Mount. These statements, called beatitudes, are instructions by Jesus to his followers. In this series of posts, we will review the principles highlighted by Jesus as they relate to our work as lawyers, to our clients and the legal system.
"God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied." Matthew 5:6 (NLT)
"Justice" is defined as "the quality of being fair and reasonable." In more modern terms, it might be said that justice is giving someone what they are due. When you have something wrongfully taken away from you, you desire justice more than anything else. You want to set things right.
At Dixon Law Office, we are in the justice business. In every case, we represent someone who has had something taken from them their health, their wages, or even the life of a loved one and are seeking someone to help them get justice for that loss. Contrary to what you might hear in the media (or from insurance companies), what they really want is restore health or their loved one back, not some huge settlement. However, doing nothing is no justice at all and can encourage the wrongdoer to do it again. That is why nearly everyone seeks out a lawyer, not for the cash but for justice.
Justice is not just a simple word for us. At Dixon Law Office, we help out clients get the justice they deserve. In every sense, we are making it right for our clients. If you have been seeking justice for your injuries from a car accident, truck accident, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, or other injury claim, call us at Dixon Law Office. We will make it right for you and help you get the justice the law says you deserve. Call us today.
Pride is disease that afflicts many but none more clearly than those who commit wrongs. At Dixon Law Office we see proud corporations, companies, and people who refuse to admit their wrong actions caused harm to others. We also see it in insurance companies and adjusters who refuse to fairly compensate victims for the harms caused. At Dixon Law Office, we use the legal system to humble the proud. A jury of people has the power to bring the biggest corporation to its knees and account for its wrongs.
But we are also keenly aware that pride can affect us as well. We strive to be humble servants to everyone who calls on us. Whether their case is big or small, we do our best to serve t
hat person with respect, caring and compassion. After all, it is what we are called to do.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident, nursing home abuse, or were injured at work, let Dixon Law Office be of service to you. We are here to help.
